Chile has the most high tech telecommunications system in Latin America with advanced infrastructure and a regulator committed to create a competitive market. The country is leading the region’s mobile penetration and is expected to reach 80% by the year 2008.

Nevertheless operators from the region are also maturating its networks to offer valued added services. According to Informa Telecoms & Media mobile data usage and revenue are on the upswing and this is driving Latin American operators to develop new business models for mobile services development and delivery.

 

 

About the Event

IBC Latin America is pleased to announce the MobileCom Cono Sur wich is going to be held on 25 and 26 September in Santiago de Chile. The event is a 2-day networking summit designed to stimulate and promote the development of telecommunications in the Southern Cone markets.

Attendees will come to network, interact and learn from successful case studies how to boost telecom services in the southern cone markets. They will be able to share experience on technology evolution, strategies and perspectives for the region.
